THE CONCEPT – THE NAME
Both are the result of a simple idea: to create a space where we could be who we really are.
We wanted to provide place where we could welcome our community and make new acquaintances with like minded people who could feel completely comfortable and at ease expressing themselves as if they were home. A space where we could listen to good music, flirt by the poolside or spend the day among friends. That is why we created: Our House Espaço Livre, Amigos e Arte LTDA. (Our House Free Space, Friends and Arts LTD.)

SEARCHING FOR THE PLACE
After 28 years in the big city, hesitantly, we left good old New York and started our search for a place that could satisfy our idea of comfort tranquility and beauty. We searched in the USA for a few months then in October 2002, chance and coincidence took us to Brazil.

THE AREA AND ITS LOCATION
On a peninsula two hours north east of the city of Rio de Janeiro, we found in Búzios what we were looking for. Fifteen hundred square meters of land with a small one bedroom house and an eight room structure left incomplete and ready for new energy.

It took us three years to redo practically everything. Each corner, each plant, each stone was carefully placed with love and dedication offering our clients and friends good vibes and the coziness of a welcoming place. We are privileged to have Our House located on a hillside surrounded by lush green, total privacy and a stunning view of Ferradura Beach.

THE INN
We like to describe Our House as a simple yet sophisticated. The garden greets you with a swimming pool, lounge chairs, a space for chatting with friends or reading under the shade of mango trees. We are completing our new game room where you’ll find a pool table and a variety of board games, cards etc.

Breakfast is served from 8-10:30 am in our lovely, rustic style bar. After a day at the beach you can sip champagne by the pool or enjoy an ice cold beer and some snacks at our happy hour. We offer a big barbeque pit where if you bring it we’ll cook it. All this surrounded by luscious green for your enjoyment and privacy.

THE SUITES
Our House has eight rooms all with ocean views and equipped with 20 in. TV sets, air conditioning, queen size beds, ceiling fans, and mini bar. Four rooms are located on the upper level and four on the lower level, slightly smaller.  Each room has access to individual verandas, equipped to relax and enjoy the view.

A QUICK NOTE
As members of international groups and movements promoting environmental policies, we work hard to preserve this fragile paradise called Búzios. We rigorously recycle and use biodegradable products. We try to work with companies that practice the same principles we adopt.
